BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provincial office has amplified the promotion of technical and vocational education and training as a key in community development and a potential career path.

TESDA recently conducted a TVET skills showcase during the celebration of the 58th Mountain Province foundation anniversary and 18th Lang-ay Festival.

The event brought together various institutions, schools, and the Mountain Province State University to showcase a wide range of technical and vocational skills which include welding, baking, weaving, creating organic concoctions, and barista work, among others.

Acting TESDA Provincial Director Melita Pinic said the initiative not only celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Mountain Province but also reaffirms TESDA’s commitment to empowering Filipinos with skills that promote personal growth and contribute to national development.

“This initiative aims to demonstrate various technical and vocational skills, emphasizing the importance of TVET in local development and providing attendees with insights into potential career paths,” she shared.

By integrating the provincial skills showcase into the Lang-ay Festival, the TESDA seeks to promote lifelong learning and encourage the local populace to pursue skills training as a pathway to personal and professional advancement that can foster economic growth and community empowerment.
