QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) emphasized the importance of verifying information through their official website to prevent scams targeting students, during Tuesday’s “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas” media forum.
TESDA NCR Regional Director Cariza Dacuma urged attendees to visit the official TESDA website at https://www.tesda.gov.ph/ to access legitimate information and registered courses.

“Maaaring puntahan ang website ng Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na kung saan makikita ang registered website,” Dacuma said, highlighting the need for students to rely on official channels for official announcements and guidance.
Dacuma elaborated on the dangers of unverified programs, saying, “Kaya nga kami nag-develop nito ay for our workers to be professionalized. Imagine mo kung ang mga kababayan natin ay lalagyan ng pilik mata, tutulungan na lang nila ng glue o pandikit, delikado ‘yon.”
She emphasized that obtaining a TESDA certificate ensures that individuals are trained and competent for their respective jobs.
In response to a question from a senior high school student at Culiat High School about enrollment fees, Dacuma reassured participants that there are no fees associated with enrolling in TESDA programs.
“Mayroong anim na TESDA Technological Institution o TTI. Mayroong isa sa Regional Training Center na maaaring puntahan o pwede pumunta sa website ng TESDA para sa list ng mga registered training center,” she explained.
Another query came from an online audience member, “Jumalynne,” who asked whether working individuals could enroll in courses unrelated to their current jobs.
Dacuma confirmed that those already employed can still benefit from TESDA training, stating, “Pwedeng mag-enroll ang may work dahil ang mga skills na binibigay ay hindi panimula kundi kung gusto ba nilang ma-improve ang skills nila.”
The weekly forum, being presented by the Presidential Communications Office and the Philippine Information Agency National Capital Region, served to reinforce TESDA’s commitment to providing accessible education and skill development, ensuring that all participants receive reliable information and training opportunities.
