QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) is offering a new initiative to provide farming and urban gardening training specifically tailored for senior citizens.

TESDA-NCR Assistant Regional Director Cariza Dacuma made this announcement during the weekly “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas” media forum on Tuesday, December 17, presented by the Presidential Communications Office and the Philippine Information Agency NCR.
Director Dacuma emphasized the importance of these programs, stating, “We have urban gardening and Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) courses available in the Pasay-Makati district.”
Dacuma reassured attendees that assistance is available for all interested seniors, saying, “Everyone can be helped as long as they are capable; these are the courses we will provide.”
During the forum, a representative from the Philippines News Agency inquired about opportunities for senior citizens to participate in these training sessions.
Dacuma confirmed, “Yes, everyone can be assisted as long as they are able. That is what these courses are for.”
The initiative aims to empower senior citizens by equipping them with practical skills in agriculture, promoting not only personal growth but also community development through sustainable practices.
