ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Romblon nearly reached its target enrollees for 2024, recording 6,222 students across various TESDA-accredited schools in the province.
During the Kapihan sa PIA Romblon on Thursday, March 13, TESDA Romblon Provincial Director Vanessa Jane Aceveda shared that this number accounts for 95 percent of their enrollment target.
Meanwhile, their accomplishment exceeded 100 percent in terms of graduates, assessments, and individuals awarded a National Certificate (NC).
To sustain its commitment to technical-vocational education in 2025, TESDA has allocated over ₱25 million for various scholarship programs, including the Training for Work Scholarship Program, Private Education Student Financial Assistance, Special Training for Employment Program, Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program, Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program, and the Diploma Program under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
This year, some 1,254 scholarship slots are available for Romblomanons seeking free technical training under TESDA.
Currently, the province offers 91 vocational courses, including Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Driving NC II, Masonry NC II, Tourism Promotion Services NC II, and Tile Setting NC II.
Meanwhile, TESDA Romblon calls on interested individuals to enroll in any of the 21 accredited training institutions across Romblon to acquire the necessary skills for various industries. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
