IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently hosted the World Café of Opportunities jobs fair in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The event, held in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Zamboanga Sibugay, aimed to connect job seekers directly with potential employers.
The jobs fair attracted 22 employers, offering a total of 1,485 job vacancies. The event drew 310 job seekers to the venue, eager for employment opportunities. By the end of the day, 77 applicants had been successfully hired on the spot.
Jeselie Peñales, a resident of Roseller Lim town, was among the successful hires at the jobs fair. She expressed gratitude for the event, noting its positive impact on her and her family by opening doors to opportunities and financial stability.
I am truly grateful for this opportunity and the people behind this event. The jobs fair has not only helped me secure a position but also brought a sense of security and hope to my family,” Peñales said.

The jobs fair underscored TESDA and DOLE’s commitment to creating opportunities for job seekers in the province, helping them achieve financial stability and a brighter future.
Gladys Tiongco, acting Provincial Director of TESDA Zamboanga Sibugay, emphasized TESDA’s commitment to enhancing Filipino lives through skills training and community service. DOLE Provincial Director Elamsalih Ungad highlighted the importance of cooperation in expanding employment opportunities for all.
The celebration also featured the Bagong Pilipinas Lab For All promoting national development through innovation and community engagement.
Additionally, a Serbisyo Caravan provided public access to government services, while National Enrollment Day encouraged enrollment in TESDA’s technical and vocational programs.
