TESDA Soccsksargen launches records management information system

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Region 12 is now transitioning to paperless transactions with the recent launch of its Records Management Information System (RMIS).

Regional Director Jerry G. Tizon led the launching ceremony of the TESDA-RMIS, alongside the Management Committee Members and Information Communication Technology personnel from various provinces.

For the past few years, Western Visayas and the CARAGA region have been the first to implement the RMIS, now in version 2.3.

Tizon, whose passion lies in information technology, said the RMIS aims to reduce paperwork in the region and streamline transaction flow.

Using modern technology, Tizon expects that RMIS will assist the provincial offices and provincial training centers in their transactions, enabling them to respond more effectively to requests and other paper-related concerns.

“This will not be a perfect system, but it will make our transactions and everyday lives better and simpler,” the official stated during the RMIS launch.

According to Tizon, he will oversee orientations at every provincial office and operating unit, personally addressing the queries of TESDA employees in the region.

Tizon has already implemented RMIS in two provinces prior to the official launch in Region 12 and expects all operating units to adopt it as the standard for transactions in the upcoming weeks.

Having been in Region 12 for just 100 days, Tizon has managed to implement this system and create an Information Communication Technology Technical Working Group.

“Perhaps this will be my legacy in the region, as the world becomes more mobile and modern, so must our department,” he pointed out during his presentation of RMIS.

As TESDA embraces a modern approach for the 21st century, TESDA Region 12 aims to keep pace, striving to make all transactions mobile and adaptable to contemporary needs.

As he concluded his speech, Tizon added, “I know some are resistant to this new approach, but embracing this new learning will help us innovate and adapt.”

Tizon has scheduled individual meetings with various operating units to implement the RMIS. (TESDA Region 12/PIA Region 12)
