MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)– As part of its commitment to finally finish the restoration efforts of this war-torn city, the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) has remained eager to track the ongoing efforts implemented under the rehabilitation program.
The task force convened its implementing agencies on November 22 to review project updates, address issues, and resolve concerns that could impede the fast-tracked progress and completion.
Presidential Assistant for Marawi Rehabilitation Felix Castro Jr. expressed optimism that all current efforts would finally be completed soonest.
He reiterated that everything should be fast-tracked, emphasizing the need to resolve any lingering issues.
Castro further emphasized that public infrastructure construction must comply with the standards set by the respective local government units (LGUs). Otherwise, the locals would suffer from inferior outcomes that don’t meet the prerequisites.
“Hopefully, ang mga ongoing project ay makompleto na, at ang mga problema ay maresolve natin. The requirements of the projects should meet those of the LGU, kasi kung umalis na tayong lahat, ang LGU ang maiiwan. Ang mga Maranao ang magsa-suffer kung anuman ang ginawa nating mali [Hopefully, we can resolve the problems and complete the ongoing projects as soon as possible. The requirements should meet LGU standards because if all of us take our exit, they will be left. The Maranaos will suffer from whatever wrong we did],” he said.
Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra expressed his dedication to hastening the pending projects.
He wanted the city government to assume administration of these infrastructures before the current year ends.
“Lahat ng ongoing projects implemented by various line agencies ay gusto nating mapabilis at maiturn-over within this year. Iyan din ang commitment ng implementing agencies [We want all the ongoing projects implemented by various line agencies to speed up and be turned over within this year. That is also the commitment of the implementing agencies],” said Gandamra.
