TINEG, Abra (PIA) — The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tineg eyes to build more infrastructure facilities to boost local development in the area.
Vice Mayor Corinthia Crisologo and Tineg Municipal Development Officer Allan Francis De Vera presented the site development plan of Sitio Vira, Alaoa, where the municipal hall and other government offices of Tineg are situated.
The LGU will begin next year the expansion phase for additional buildings and facilities like public market, sports complex, athletic grounds with grandstand, and the community civic center which will house the tourism center, library museum, legislative hall, and convention center among others.
“Those are the things that we want to build in this area and this early, at least we will have that direction. We want to set the goal of accomplishing this per year,” Municipal Development Officer Allan Francis De Vera said in an interview.
De Vera also mentioned that complementary projects from the national government such as the Pambansan Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program are also embedded in the development plan.
Crisologo said that this masterplan is anchored on the Ambisyon Natin 2040, which aims to foster better living for the residents through access to better infrastructure and facilities within the next 10-15 years.
While infrastructure boosts the local development of the community, she underscored the importance of producing and hiring professionals who are natives of the municipality.
“We are envisioning ourselves 10-15 years from now that there will be drastic change as to the level of education, literacy, information and infrastructure,” she said.
The LGU led by Mayor Breethen Jireeh Crisologo and ViceMayor Crisologo is closely working with various partners and stakeholders for the preparations for the funding of said masterplan.
In the past decade, there was significant improvement in the local road access among the ten barangays of Tineg. Before, the travel time from the Bangued to Brgy. Alaoa was around 2-3 hours. Today, it can be reached by as fast as 30-40 minutes. (CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
