The Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas jobs fair opens at the University of Abra-Bangued Campus to cater to job seekers from Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.
BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – More than 3,000 employment opportunities were made available to job seekers from Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary-families during the ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas’ jobs fair at the University of Abra-Bangued Campus.

“Nakapatpateg met unay daytoy job fair kasi mas nalaklaka para kanyami nga job seekers nga makabirok ti trabaho nga connected met ti abilities ken skills mi. Haan mi kasapulan nga agbirbirok ti nadumaduma nga lugar,” shared Rizza Ann Amate, a 4Ps scholar from Lagayan, Abra.
Amate, who is also a child of a solo parent, is thankful for the opportunity, especially for the marginalized sector of society.

Meanwhile, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Cordillera director Imelda Romanillos reported that the job fair offered 10,019 overseas opportunities with five employers and 3,543 local vacancies with eight employers.
“The job fair ay isang mekanismo kung saan po kami po ay nagi-invite ng employers para magkaharap-harap ang mga aplikante at mga naghahanap ng workers,” she explained.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Cordillera Region Director Maria Catbagan-Aplaten also encouraged 4Ps families, especially their children, to join the job fair.
“Daytoy ket maysa nga unique nga ar-aramiden tayo ditoy Cordillera. Dagidiay annak dagiti 4Ps nga makalpasen ti kolehiyo ket umay da ket ibirokan mi ida ti trabaho,” she added.
DSWD Undersecretary Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas announced that job seekers who were hired-on-the spot will receive employment assistance from the DSWD and the Provincial Local Government to help them process their papers and settle with their new jobs.

Aside from the employers, national government agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Agriculture, Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Statistics Authority, Pagtulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Bangko, Industriya at Gobyerno, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Migrant Workers, and Bureau of Internal Revenue offered their services during the job fair.
The ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas’ was part of the week-long Abrenian Kawayan Festival set from March 1 to 9, 2025. (JJMT, PIA-CAR, Abra)
