BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The partnership effort of the Department of Labor and Employment and the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya to provide employment opportunities through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) program benefitted 759 Novo Vizcayanos.
Governor Jose Gambito said the DOLE’s TUPAD program, funded with P3.415 million brought jobs to Novo Vizcayanos who worked for 10 days and received P4,500 each at P450 as daily wage.
He said the employment program benefited 350 villagers in Aritao town, 319 in Ambaguio town, and 87 in Quezon town.
“We are grateful for the support and assistance of DOLE. Because of our collaboration and partnership, we were able to provide jobs for our poor sectors who needed it badly. We expect more funds to provide jobs for our fellow Novo Vizcayanos,” Gambito said.
He added that the DOLE also provided P1.598 million to fund the job deployment of at least 20 fresh college graduates under the Government Internship Program.
