Participants walked side by side, symbolizing their unity in promoting a fair electoral process. The presence of provincial and local candidates highlighted their dedication to ethical campaigning and respect for the democratic process.
The event also featured a Peace Covenant Signing, a Candidates’ Briefing on election protocols and law enforcement responsibilities, and a Holy Mass.
“Eto pong Unity Walk natin, it’s a good indication na magiging peaceful yung ating elections at nag assure na sila ay susuporta sa efforts ng Comelec. Makikita mo yung kanilang sincerity at intentions, at it will cascade to their supporters because if the candidates want peace, you can expect na pati yung mga supporters nila would also want peace,” said Atty. Karen C. Cajipo, provincial election supervisor of Comelec Samar.
