Victorias City to host Women’s Futsal World Cup

BACOLOD CITY (PIA) — Victorias City in Negros Occidental has secured its spot as one of the official venues of the maiden FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 with the signing of two landmark agreements.

City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, on behalf of Victorias City, signed the Hall and Host City Agreement with Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), and a partnership agreement with the Loyola Football Club.

The Hall and Host City Agreement seals Victorias City’s historic role in the first ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup happening this year in the Philippines from Nov. 21 to Dec. 7.

 Under the Agreement, the Victorias City Coliseum will see renovations to develop world-class facilities and meet the top-notch standards of FIFA, enabling Futsal players of eight participating teams from six confederations worldwide get the best experience.

Benitez cited Victorias City’s hosting of the prestigious sporting event as a milestone in the City’s sports development and global presence, according to the Victorias City Information Office (VCIO) in a Facebook post.

“This is historic for Victorias City—the very first FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in the entire world, and I can’t thank PFF and the entire committee of FIFA enough,” Benitez said.

PFF President John Anthony Gutierrez stressed the city’s dedication and openness to host the tournament would have a pivotal impact to grassroots football in Negros Occidental.

 “Victorias has been supportive, aggressive, and enthusiastic. We have no doubt that this will be a hosting that the world will look up to,” Gutierrez stressed.

Victorias City also signed a deal with the Loyola Football Club (FC) in a bid to boost its profile in the world of professional football and inspire local athletes to take their talents to greater heights.

 For one football season, as part of the partnership, Loyola FC will be branded as the “Loyola Victorias Football Club.”
