SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — Walang Gutom Program (WGP) rolled out in the town of Bugasong, the central part of Antique with 178 beneficiaries.
WGP is one of DSWD’s flagship programs to decrease the incidence of involuntary hunger experienced by low-income households.
Bugasong information officer Richard Francisco said the program also hopes to make less privileged families as active partners in development during the Food Redemption Activity at the Ilaya (AnaKalusugan) Evacuation Center.
The program aims to provide monetary-based assistance in the form of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that will be loaded with food credits to purchase a select list of food commodities from partner merchant store/s that can be viewed at https://kiosk.dswd.gov.ph.
MSWDO Ladylove B. Requintina echoed the gratitude of the local officials for the support extended by the government, citing the importance of having a healthy body for the progress of our society.
She added that this program uplifts the spirits of the low-income earners who are striving to make amends in their daily lives. (AGP/PSM/PIA Antique with reports from Richard Francisco)
