VALENCIA, Negros Oriental (PIA) – The opening of the first water park in Negros Oriental is seen to boost the economic and tourism activities in the province.

The Mango Ranch Water Park situated within the eight-hectare development property in Barangay Palinpinon, Valencia is the newest tourist attraction in the province.

The water park is expected to generate job opportunities for local workers while showcasing the natural landscapes of Valencia town.

“The local government unit welcomes this new development as this can create employment opportunities for locals, aside from attracting more tourists, contributing to the town’s economic growth,” said Valencia tourism officer Desiderio Tilos Jr.

Meanwhile, Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) president Edward Du is optimistic that the resort will reinforce the province’s place in the tourism map of Central Visayas and Negros Island.

“We expect more tourists to come here. This is a welcome development for all of us. More tourists means more jobs and more revenues,” Du said.

He also added that operating a resort of this scale would also convey a message to potential investors that it is safe and profitable to invest in Negros Oriental.

Valencia, located 13.4 kilometers away from Dumaguete City, is popular for natural wonders like the Casaroro Falls, Pulang Bato Falls, Mag-Aso Sulfur Vents, and Mt. Talinis.

The Mango Ranch Water Park features a splash tower with three typical slides and three swirling slides, a kiddie pool, a wave pool, lazy river, and a lagoon pool.

The Mango Ranch Water Park is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (RAL/PIA7-Negros Oriental)
