Women’s group in Paniqui undergoes business skills training

TARLAC CITY (PIA) – Members of the United Women of Paniqui-Patalan Chapter completed the skills training on entrepreneurship and sweet potato processing organized by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

This is part of the agency’s initiative to assist, support and hone potential and budding entrepreneurs in the province of Tarlac.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay highlighted the important role of micro, small and medium enterprises in boosting the employment rate and local economy of the municipality of Paniqui.

“We are counting on the beneficiaries of the seminar to help their community by applying what they have learned. This opportunity may create new enterprises that would increase the economic activities of their area as sweet potato is abundant in their area,” Garibay stressed.

During the activity, Business Counselor Ranjee Mañalac talked about entrepreneurship including its basics and importance meanwhile, Mr. Danilo Gacusan demonstrated the process of making chips, jam, confectioneries and hopia using sweet potato.

DTI, through Negosyo Center Paniqui, vowed continuous assistance, monitoring and development of the participants’ future business ventures. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
