QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Serving as the backbone of the country’s economy, the Department of Trade and Industry National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO) continues to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.
The Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), one of the flagship programs of the DTI, targets to help would-be and existing youth entrepreneurs to explore their full potential to become successful entrepreneurs, with a specific focus in e-commerce, and empower innovative youth entrepreneurs.
This coming May, DTI-NCRO invites youth entrepreneurs in NCR North (Quezon City, San Juan, Mandaluyong, CAMANAVA, and Marikina) to its first batch of YEP! Be Your Own Boss (BYOB).
The YEP-BYOB Program is designed to help youth entrepreneurs who are either starting or already in business navigate the expanding business landscape through capacity building, mentoring, and potential partnerships.

An in-depth 3-day face-to-face event happening on May 28-30, 2025 at the QCX Business Center, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.
The program is open to Filipino ages 18-30 years old, planning and/or having their own business, committed to participate and finish the 3-day activity, and open for new learnings to grow and sustain their business.
The free seminar is open to the first 30 participants who will register via https://bit.ly/YEP-BYOB2025.
Meanwhile aside from the free seminars, DTI also provides interventions to beneficiaries of the program:
- Youth Start: Under this component, entrepreneurial mind-setting seminars or inspirational forums and basic services shall be provided through business registration assistance, business opportunities seminars, and entrepreneurship skills training.
- Youth Net: Under this component, mentoring sessions, the establishment of youth entrepreneurship organizations, and/ or joining in entrepreneurship associations will be facilitated.
- Youth Match: Under this component, young entrepreneurs shall be engaged in various market promotion activities, and their access to investment funding and relevant machines/ equipment to increase their productivity will be facilitated.
Republic Act No. 10679 otherwise known as the Youth Entrepreneurship Act mandates the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Council (MSMEDC) through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to implement a national program to promote youth entrepreneurship development. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
