Zamboanga City (PIA) — The local government of Zamboanga City has introduced innovative measures to streamline and expedite the application and renewal of business permits.
Mayor John Dalipe’s proactive approach to enhancing business processes is evident in the issuance of Executive Order JD 105 in November last year, which directs the streamlining of the issuance of business licenses, clearances, permits, certifications, or authorizations under the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.”

Local officials emphasize that the goal is not only to make the permit procedures more efficient but also to actively support the growth of businesses. The revamped system is designed to be responsive to the unique needs of various industries, acknowledging that a one-size-fits-all approach does not serve the diverse entrepreneurial landscape of Zamboanga City.
Section 1 of the executive order mandates the implementation of a single, unified business application form for both new and renewal applications. This consolidated form includes all necessary information required by the city government and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), promoting efficiency and ease of compliance.
To facilitate accessibility, the unified form will be readily available for download on the city’s official website and social media platforms. Entrepreneurs can fill it out electronically or opt for a printed version for submission.
For new business registration, documentary requirements include proof of registration from relevant authorities, proof of the right to use the business location, and a valid Fire Safety Inspection Certificate for Occupancy issued by the BFP within the last nine months.
Business owners, once burdened by lengthy and complex permit procedures, now find themselves navigating a simplified and accelerated process. This not only saves valuable time but also reduces operational costs associated with bureaucratic delays.
The Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) at Centro Latino in Paseo del Mar is ready to serve the influx of business operators who will either register or renew their permits for 2024 from January 2 to 20. BOSS will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 5pm Saturdays and Sundays including holidays to accommodate all applications for business permit registration and renewal.
