The City Agriculturist Office identified the recipients based on their specific needs, ensuring the equipment and resources would directly benefit farmers in their operations. DA-9’s Provincial Coordinating Officer for Zamboanga, Nonong Estrada, represented the agency during the event.

Dennis Francisco, farmer and association president, expressed his gratitude for the much-needed support. He emphasized the critical role of equipment and funds in their livelihood, especially during extreme weather conditions.

“Equipment kami nececita, kay si nohay kami equipment like tractor, tracer, rice planter, harvester, quelaya ya lang,” he said.

(“Equipment is essential for us because without it, like tractors, rice planters, and harvesters, our work becomes much harder,” he said.)

The interventions are expected to improve farming efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance the overall productivity of the city’s agricultural sector, contributing to food security and economic development. (EDT/MLE/PIA Region 9-Zamboanga City)
