Zambo Norte enhances DRRM response with basic life support training

DIPOLOG CITY, Nov. 17 (PIA) – The Province of Zamboanga del Norte is actively making efforts to strengthen its Disaster Risk Reduction Management response starting with a four-day training session centering on basic life support (BLS) from November 14 to November 17 at various locations, this city.

The said training covered different components of BLS in the face of emergencies such as basic first aid for Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) personnel, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for hospital service providers.

Part of the training were the different techniques and procedures when dealing will adults, children, and infants given the latter’s fragile constitution.

First aid training sessions were held in the Provincial Evacuation Center in Barangay Turno while the CPR sessions were conducted at Corazon C. Aquino Hospital.

Provincial Governor Rosalina “Nene” Jalosjos, represented by Norman Alegarbes, emphasized the importance of well-trained emergency personnel in times of disaster and emergencies as it is part of the government’s mandate to stay alert for any disasters, accidents, and/or emergencies 24/7.

Allen Sison of PDRRMO added to the sentiment by highlighting their role in ensuring the safety and well being of their constituents in the face of calamities.

He also encouraged participants to take their training to heart as these are the backbone of their duty as the emergency service providers.
