PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (PIA) – The Police Regional Office (PRO) in Zamboanga Peninsula assured the public that contingency plans are in place in case of any untoward incidents during the upcoming National and Local Elections (NLE) 2025.
In the recent Kapihan sa Rehiyon Nueve, Police Brigadier General Roel C. Rodolfo, regional director of PRO Zamboanga Peninsula, emphasized that the police force has been actively conducting various operations.
“Actually, yan po talaga ang aming ginagawa. Nagkaroon kami ng mga simulation exercise, communication exercise. ‘Yung ating mga possible na scenario ay trinain natin ‘yung ating mga units at kung paano nila ia-activate ‘yung kanilang critical incident management committee. Automatic yan,” he said.
(That is actually what we are doing. We conducted simulation and communication exercises. Our units were trained on possible scenarios and how to activate their critical incident management committee. That’s automatic.)
He also highlighted that all chiefs of police across the region were required to establish an Incident Command System in their respective areas.
Rodolfo expressed gratitude to the forum, saying it serves as a platform for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to inform the public about their efforts to ensure safe and peaceful elections.
“Tuwang-tuwa kaming maimbitahan through this program [Kapihan sa Rehiyon Nueve]. Maipaparating natin sa ating mga kasamahan o sa community kung ano yung ginawa ng PNP at willing na gagawin pa para lang masigurado ‘yung seguridad ng halalan o maging matahamik ang lahat ng community,” he said.

PRO Zamboanga Peninsula assured that the elections in the region will be peaceful and orderly through their thorough preparations and close coordination with other agencies (EDT/HTB/PIA9-Zamboanga del Sur)
