IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The Police Regional Office in the Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) recently held a meet and greet here with the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO) Press Corps, underscoring the essential role of journalists in promoting transparency and public trust through collaboration with law enforcement.
Police Brigadier General Roel Rodolfo, director of PRO-9, led the event and expressed gratitude for the active participation of the press corps, emphasizing the media’s indispensable role in ensuring communities remain well-informed through accurate and timely reporting.

“We all know how important the media is in shaping public understanding and ensuring transparency. And I want to make sure we’re working hand in hand with you to share significant, accurate information and prevent the spreading of false news,” Rodolfo said.
The gathering served as a platform to strengthen ties between law enforcement and local media practitioners, reinforcing their shared mission to combat misinformation and promote truthful narratives that empower citizens.
Criste Basadre, president of the ZSBPPO Press Corps, thanked PRO-9 for initiating the event, noting that it fosters mutual understanding and strengthens media and law enforcement relations in their shared commitment to inform and serve the public.
