LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (PIA) – Soldiers from the Army 102nd Infantry “Igsoon” Brigade reaffirmed their commitment to a fair and peaceful electoral process in the Zamboanga Peninsula, emphasizing neutrality and vigilant monitoring of election violations.
Col. Eddie M. Pilapil, commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade, assured the public that the military remains apolitical and will focus on ensuring lawful elections during a recent Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas at the 1st Infantry Division’s conference hall.

“Rest assured that our soldiers here in the Zamboanga Peninsula will remain apolitical; we will not take sides,” Pilapil said. “We are committed to upholding the law and assisting the Commission on Elections and the Philippine National Police in enforcing it.”
Meanwhile, DILG Regional Director Paisal Abutazil called on candidates to adhere to Commission on Elections guidelines, emphasizing the media’s role in ensuring transparency and accountability.

“I think the media should play a very important role in monitoring election violations,” Abutazil said.
“Everyone should also be vigilant in identifying any violations and report them to the proper authorities so that they can be addressed accordingly.”
