Aksyon Mindanaw Forum slated

    Davao City (4 July) -- Aksyon Mindanaw, a multi-sectoral and multi-peoples alliance based in Davao City will be holding the launch of a series of forums to discuss issues facing Mindanaoans and encourage local and national candidates to take heed of these discussions.
    A forum and general assembly will be held this July 5, Sunday at E-Vibe Super Club in Torres Street, Davao City which will be graced by speakers led by Senator Francis Pangilinan, Fr. Alberto Alejo of Konsult Mindanaw and Undersecretary Virgilio Leyretana, chair of the Mindanao Economic and Development Council or Medco. (+)

    Davao City (4 July) -- These may be the worst of times, but being Filipinos it is a valuable trait in us to still be cheerful even in these trying times. In Davao City, three people have proven that even how hard circumstances may become, there is still hope. There will always be hope. 4Ps is hope.
    A Mother's Will Power to Survive
    As a single parent, Marilyn Makiputin, 49 years old of Barangay 21-C, Davao City was able to raise all nine children. Her husband died in 2002. Since then, she took care of her kids by selling durian candies and other durian products at Ecoland Overland Terminal. (+)

    Manila (3 July) -- Pangungunahan ni Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita ang awarding rites para sa 2009 Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) sa isang simpleng seremonya sa Malacaņang.
    Ang TOSP ay taunang search sa buong bansa na sinimulan noon pang 1961 at nagbibigay parangal sa mga outstanding Filipino student na mahusay hindi lamang sa kanilang pag-aaral kundi pati na rin sa pagtupad sa kanilang mga social responsibilities. (+)

SYNOPSIS: Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao. Moderate to occasionally strong Southwesterly surface windflow affecting Northern Luzon.
FORECAST: The Western section of Northern and Central Luzon and the whole Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening. Light to moderate winds blowing from the South and Southwest will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and coming from the Southwest and Variable over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate except during thunderstorms.
