Herrera: Tame "El Nino" with alternative crops

    Tagbilaran City (9 February) -- Bohol Vice Governor Julius Caesar Herrera presses for alternative crops and family managed patches while government technology can be easily had this time to dampen the felt dry spell.
    The top legislator, who also sits as the SP Agriculture Chair said he learned that the government is ready to palay farmers who want to momentarily shift to corn and that it can provide hybrid seeds. (+)

Peace and order brings economic progress, says Aklan governor

    Kalibo, Aklan (9 February) -- The economic progress of an area depends on its peace and order, according to Aklan governor Carlito S. Marquez.
    Marquez issued this statement at the opening of the first Provincial Peace and Order (PPOC) meeting of Aklan for the year, held a day after the release February 8 of Executive Order 005 reorganizing the PPOC. (+)

    Lungsod ng Kutabato (9 February) -- Pinasalamatan ng government panel chair Ambassador Rafael Seguis ang grupo ni North Cotabato Vice Governor Manny Piņol sa paghatid ng mga dokumentong naglalaman ng kanilang panig hinggil sa usaping pangkapayapaan sa pagitan ng gobyerno at ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
    Personal na pumunta ang grupo ni Piņol na kinabibilangan nina board members Romeo Arana at Ronaldo Pader sa Kuala Lumpur upang ipaabot ng personal kay Seguis ang dala nilang mga dokumento. (+)
