‘Seamless services’ for PSA clients offer convenient transactions

TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) – The regional office of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) offers convenient and seamless services.

The initiative of seamless services is anchored to PSA’s celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month with this year’s theme, “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services.”

According to PSA Regional Director Wilma A. Perante, this year's celebration intensifies their commitment and advocacy to deliver effective and efficient civil registration to their clients and stakeholders.

Perante said they envisioned providing seamless services, as they understand that customers have specific needs and expectations that require attention.

Jennelyn P. Durana, a 29-year-old resident of Basey, Samar, is applying for a Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR). She wishes to get married, and one of the requirements is to obtain the CENOMAR.

“The process at PSA is now easy. The queue is not too long, and it's no longer difficult to apply for a CENOMAR,” Durana said confidently as she went directly to PSA to avail of their services.

Jennet M. Almeria, a 41-year-old resident of Cebu City, is applying for her grandfather’s and father’s death certificates, which are needed in her transaction with the Bureau of Internal Revenue. She visited her relatives' hometown in Leyte to process the documents.

“Medyo mabilis naman kasi kumpara dati na ilang months o araw. Ngayon, makukuha mo daw ka agad kaya maganda ito para sa amin na mabilis makuha yung mga pangangailangan,” Almeria expressed contentment with the services she experienced with the PSA when obtaining the said document.

Perante mentioned that providing quality service is one of the key elements of ensuring a seamless experience, which includes simple transactions such as the three-step process of obtaining certificates for live births, marriages, and deaths.

PSA has already utilized seamless services through the Information Technology Project Phase 2 (ITP2). They have also expanded the region's Civil Registry System (CRS) outlets in Southern Leyte, Eastern, and Northern Samar.

"We need to improve the processes in our services, particularly in civil registration. We are pleased that our partner agencies, the local civil registrars, and the local government unit, including Unisys, are committed to enhancing the system and assisting us to ensure that customers' expectations are met,” Perante expressed.
