KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato Province (PIA) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP), through its Police Regional Office (PRO) in Soccsksargen, has reiterated its 100 percent commitment to implement the law and order to maintain peace and ensure the safety of the public in the region.

As one of the most reliable police forces representing PRO 12, the Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO), headed by OIC provincial director Col. Gilberto Tuzon, assured the dedication of the CPPO personnel to their duties to ensure and safeguard the peace, thereby fostering a peaceful province for the residents.

“Be assured that CPPO remains committed to upholding peace and order, ensuring safety, and helping make the province the most progressive in Region 12,” Tuzon assured the provincial leaders in his courtesy visit to Governor Emmylou Mendoza.

He pointed out that CPPO’s priority is to intensify PNP’s efforts to maintain law and order in the entire province, citing the police mantra “to serve and protect.”

Based on the 2023 second semester data of the CPPO, crime incidents in the province dropped by 24.4 percent, which Tuzon attributed not only to the efforts of the police but also to the support and cooperation of the public.

Aside from its regular operations, the police office also ensures that its personnel are well equipped with the tools and necessary items that are needed for their daily operations and other tasks.

In the municipality of Kabacan, the CPPO turned over 10 Emtan rifles, 180 boxes of 5.56 live ammunition, two sets of investigator kits, and 70 long rifles.

The police office also distributed 27 units of Emtan rifles, two sets of investigator kits, 486 boxes of 5.56mm live ammunition, and 162 long rifles to the Kidapawan City police station.

Tuzon explained that the allocation of firearms and investigative tools aims to boost the operational capacity of municipal police stations, emphasizing that this will enable them to strengthen security measures and curb crime incidents in their different areas of concern.

Meanwhile, the CPPO welcomed the 96 police personnel deployed by PRO 12 to man the newly installed 3rd Provisional Mobile Force Company in the town of Pikit, which was activated following the transfer of the 45th Special Action Company to Lanao del Sur.

The CPPO believes that the creation of the said company is a vital step to bolster law enforcement in the province.

Zukira Rahim, a teacher in the municipality of Pikit, said the deployment of troops in their town is a welcome development, especially for the maintenance of peace and order in the area.

“Sila ang pinaka-kailangan namin upang lalo pang maisulong ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa Pikit,” Rahim emphasized.
