COTABATO CITY (PIA) -- The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has recently launched its knowledge portal called “Integrated Learning Management Online,” or ILM Online.

The online portal aims to provide brief and useful information on the social protection and welfare programs that can assist the people in the region with their information searches about the social services of the Bangsamoro government, among others.

Social Services Minister Raissa Jajurie conveyed that the ILM Online also provides the ministry with a platform for knowledge sharing in its effort to provide information on different programs that the ministry is implementing.

“With ILM online, the ministry will also be developing knowledge products that will be useful for our employees as we plan and develop more programs, activities, and projects in the exercise of our mandate,” Jajurie explained.

Derived from the Arabic word "Ilm," meaning knowledge, the online portal serves as the MSSD’s repository of knowledge and learning resources and envisions cultivating a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

The portal offers various knowledge sources, covering MSSD’s achievements, social protection initiatives, pertinent research, and comprehensive data sets.

Lawyer Mohammad Muktadir Estrella, MSSD director-general, emphasized that ILM online highlights the efficient delivery of social services through technology, enhances transparency and accountability, provides vast informational resources, creates a space for feedback to expand and grow, and shares success stories of the Bangsamoro people.

“It provides us an opportunity to share with you the colorful stories of the Bangsamoro people. From stories of uplifting the poorest of the poor households through Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro, capturing the nurture and nourishment of our orphan children through the KupKop program, and other programs of the ministry,” Estrella pointed out.

He also emphasized that the initiative of the ministry is geared towards embracing technology as one of the ways to effectively and efficiently deliver the necessary social services to Bangsamoro residents.

Meanwhile, MSSD’s Planning and Development Division Chief Jamal Ali Macapodi disclosed that the goal of ILM Online is to elevate the digitization efforts of the Bangsamoro government.

“ILM Online serves as a knowledge tank for integrated learning initiatives within MSSD, geared towards continuous learning and effective knowledge facilitation,” he clarified.

Macapodi also reiterated that “ILM Online contains various learning materials, ranging from MSSD’s knowledge products to other valuable external resources, all with the focus of enriching knowledge on BARMM’s social service landscape.” (LTB - PIA Cotabato City)
