P15-M fire station to rise in Mountain Province town

TADIAN, Mountain Province (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will be constructing a P15 million fire station in the municipality of Tadian in Mountain Province.


Officials of BFP in-Cordillera together with local officials witnessed the groundbreaking for the fire station on Monday, Jan. 8, in the town’s poblacion. The lot where the fire station will be constructed was donated by the municipal government.


BFP-CAR office-in-charge, Senior Supt. Robert M. Pacis thanked Tadian Mayor Constito S. Masweng for his support for this project.


“Our event today would not be possible had it not been for the unwavering support of the local government headed by the honorable mayor, Constito Masweng. Thank you for laying out the foundation for what will soon to be a permanent dwelling for our personnel. Thank you, Tadian LGU, for your generosity in donating the lot and the structure therein,” he said.


The municipal government will fund Phase I of the project in the amount of P4.423 million while the BFP will cover the rest of the total project cost until its completion.

“As the BFP-CAR accepts this donation, this pictures that we also accept the responsibility of continuing the construction and making sure that the soon-to-rise building will be well taken care of. To the whole BFP-Mountain Province, you are tasked to monitor the construction of your home. Work hand-in-hand with the project implementer for this endeavor’s betterment,” Caranguian said.


Mountain Province fire marshall Supt. Rae S. Sumedca said the realization of this project, through the collaborative efforts of the BFP and LGU, is a symbol of progress, unity and resilience.


Masweng shared that the construction of a municipal fire station building is a top priority of his administration which counts public safety as a priority area.


This fire station project is aligned with Republic Act 11589 or the BFP Modernization Act of 2021 which is geared towards the enhancement of the capability of BFP personnel and acquisition of state-of-the-art fire prevention, fire suppression, fire investigation, and emergency medical and rescue services facilities and equipment.


The Tadian fire station will be the third modern municipal fire station in the province after Paracelis and Sagada. (VJLT-PIA Mountain Province)
