Business licensing, renewal continue in Laoag City

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) – Business owners in this city can now renew their permits to operate through the Business One Stop Shop and online application until January 20.

The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) is expecting about 6,000 business owners to renew their permits in the city.

For online renewal, business owners can visit the website https://bpbc.ibpls.com/cityoflaoagilocosnorte/ for their application.

The BPLO is also opening its office for business owners needing assistance with online business renewal.

Meanwhile, the Business Renewal One Stop Shop is located at the Laoag City Multipurpose Hall and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday to Friday, and on Saturday, January 20.

“Inaasahan naming na lahat naman ng mga business establishments sa Laoag ay makakapag-renew. Kahit na hindi sila maka-renew lahat this January, alam naman na namin na mayroong mga nahuhuli, pero sana ay mag-renew pa rin sila,” Antonette Bareng, head of the BPLO-Laoag City said.

(We are expecting all business establishments in Laoag to renew their licenses. Even if they don’t get renewed this January, as we know there will always be those late renewals, we hope everyone will renew,” Antonette Bareng, head of the BPLO in Laoag City said.)

She said that even before the start of the renewal period, some business establishments have already started passing their documents to the BPLO, which, she said, is a good sign of compliance of the owners.

According to the BPLO, jeepney cooperatives have also started filing for their business permits to operate in compliance with the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

Business owners who fail to renew their permits by the deadline will face a minimum fine of P2,500.

For any concerns, business owners can contact the BPLO of Laoag City at 0998-558-8082 or 077 772 0001 local 208, or email cmo.pld@gmail.com.

Obtaining a valid permit allows businesses to continue to operate in the city.
