MANILA, (PIA) -- The Malabon City government has organized a two-day “Walang Tulugan, Serbisyo Caravan” (services caravan) for residents to mark Mayor Jeannie Sandoval's birthday on Jan. 14.

The caravan aims to bring the city’s programs for education, livelihood, employment, disaster response, legal and financial aid closer to residents. It also offers free treats like sweet taho, haircuts, massages and movies for seniors and people with disabilities.

Activities run from 7 a.m. Monday, January 15 through Tuesday, January 16 afternoon at sites around Malabon. They showcase the city's achievements over the past year, including a good governance award.

First of all, I want to express my gratitude because until now we are still together in public service for the continuing rise and development of our city,” Sandoval told constituents. She said her administration will keep providing quality services in 2024 despite challenges in its first year.

A highlight is Monday’s 1 p.m. inauguration of the Malabon E-Learning Center. The digital tutoring system aims to improve literacy and math skills through personalized guidance. About 60 students will attend the launch and benefit from the pilot program.

Other events include a Monday morning blessing of new ambulances and a firetruck, and a jobs caravan featuring a mini job fair and help desk for overseas Filipino workers.

The city will also distribute social welfare cards and aid to cardholders. Various agencies will participate in a simultaneous clean-up drive Tuesday morning in 13 barangays or villages.

Together let us once again knock on the hearts of Malabueños and make them feel that this is the kind of service and governance that should be for them,” Sandoval said. (PIA-NCR)
