OCD-10 extends assistance to fire-affected families in Kolambugan town

KOLAMBUGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)-- The Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-10 provided essential non-food items to 40 families affected by the fire incident that occurred on January 7 at Barangay Titunod in this town.

The assistance includes family packs, shelter repair kits, hygiene kits, and blankets, amounting to over P430,000. The distribution took place at the Kolambugan Civic Center, where the displaced families are currently taking temporary shelter.

OCD-10 Regional Director Antonio B. Sugarol led the distribution together with OCD-10 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division Chief Gilbert H. Conde and Kolambugan Mayor Allan M. Omamos.

"I am going to relay and inform our concerned national government agencies in the region, member agencies in the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, of your predicament, hoping that, in one way or another, our local government unit in Kolambogan and the victims of the recent fire incident can be assisted in your recovery, of your lives, your occupation, and those that were lost," Sugarol said.

OCD-10 also conducted a site inspection on the incident, which damaged 39 houses and killed two individuals. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte
