PSA achieves 87% of PhilSys registration in Oriental Mindoro

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro has successfully registered 87 percent of the 813,589 target registrations aged five years old and above for the Philippine Identification, while a total of 707,690 Mindoreños are already PhilSys-registered, says supervising statistical specialist and Officer-In-Charge, Donna Marie D. Mobe during the press conference held at the PSA Provincial Statistical Office on January 12.

Mobe added, that on November 2023, mobile registration center was re-launched in the municipalities of Socorro, Mansalay and Bulalacao. One registration personnel from the local government unit of Bongabong was deployed Roxas LGU for the re-launching of their mobile registration.

This initiative aims to saturate and register the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Roxas, Mansalay and Bulalacao.

Registration team from Calapan City went to far-flung areas in Sitio Tikiw, Barangay Burbuli in Baco to register IP students who were not yet registered during mobile registration in the barangay. A total of 20 students were registered and 15 of them received the ePhil-IDs.

In efforts to fortify the implementation of PhilSys, PSA also conducted information dissemination campaigns during meetings and caravans in various municipalities.

Meanwhile, PSA continues the conduct of school mobile registration in different municipalities in the province. As part of the school campaign, the registration teams conducted registration in all public and private schools, especially in elementary schools. This strategy aims to register and capture biometric information of teachers and students who just turned five years old of 2023-2024.

During the third quarter of 2023, PSA administered a school mobile registration in different municipalities and city in the province with the aim of carrying out for the school year 2023-2024 registration of the Philippine Identification System. A total of 6,944 students and teachers were registered and 1,652 ePhil-IDs were issued.

Information dissemination, distribution of leaflets and posting of PhilSys stickers at various establishments and barangays in all municipalities in the province were continuously conducted to boost the promotion of PhilSys check for verification of the Phil-IDs/ePhil-IDs authenticity.

PSA operates mobile registration in the municipalities of Baco, Naujan, Socorro, Pola, Pinamalayan, Bongabong, Mansalay, Bulalacao as well as in the City of Calapan. (DN/PIA Mimaropa - Oriental Mindoro)
