DPWH completes P19.3M road network in Quezon

QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed a road project that is expected to boost trade and tourism in Quezon town in Nueva Vizcaya.

Engineer Marifel Andes, chief of the 1st Engineering District of DPWH Nueva Vizcaya, said the P19.3 million Jacinto-Esquivel Road Project in Barangay Baresbes will inspire upland farmers to engage more in agriculture as better access road is already provided for them.

She also said the road development project will surely draw local and foreign tourists as it links the national highway to the Plaza Patring Falls, an ecotourism attraction of the municipality.

“With the road spanning from Baresbes, Quezon to market centers, the improved accessibility will also benefit local businesses,” she said.

The road project is an 860-meter concrete paved road that will provide ease and comfort among villagers, who are mostly upland farmers in accessing various market outlets for their products.

“The concreting of Jacinto-Esquivel Road is not merely a construction project; it’s a key to unlocking the full potential of Quezon town and Nueva Vizcaya province of its natural wonders and economic vitality in general,” Andes said.

She also said the tourism access road project was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
