Online and Registration Update System eases transactions at BIR Abra office

BANGUED, Abra, (PIA) –- The Revenue District Office (RDO) of Bangued, Abra reported that the Online and Registration Update System (ORUS) of the BIR has made a significant impact for the easier transaction of clients to their office.

BIR-Abra Client Support Section Chief Karen Zales Beleno reported that since its launching in November 2023, the number of clients who are physically transacting in their office  decreased.

Ti nadlaw tayo, bimmasit ti taon ditoy opisina, ta isu daytoy ti maysa nga purpose ti BIR ORUS, tapnu ma-decongest dagiti revenue district offices ken saan nga agdidinnupudop dagiti tattao, aglalo nu asideg ti deadlines [We observed that there were fewer clients now because that’s the purpose of BIR ORUS, to decongest the revenue district offices, to prevent the overcrowding especially during deadlines,” Beleno said.

She explained how the functionalities of the ORUS made a simpler and less hassle transactions on the part of tax payers.

“Through the ORUS, mabalin tayon ti mangala to Tax Payer Indentification Number (TIN) online, ken mabalin payen ti business registration,  so kadagiti business owners tayo, saandan a masapul ti umay ditoy opisina gapuenta mabalinen online [Through the ORUS, we can now get Tax Payer Indentification Number (TIN) online,  and for business registration, business owners do not have to come here at the office to register their business since it can now be done online],” Beleno emphasized.

When this was first introduced here in Abra, Beleno said that the taxpayers were cooperative and were pleased that accessing the BIR’s services has  never been this easy  before. They only need a mobile phone and a connectivity to access the ORUS at the official website of BIR.

"Ti pagsayaatanna daytoy ORUS tayo, mabalin ti cellphone nga usaren, so uray nu awan ti computer or desktop, ma access tayon dagitoy a services and very accepting met dagitoy tax payers tayo. Magustowanda ta uray saandanto kanon a kanayon nga umay ditoy opisina [One good thing about the  ORUS is that we can use our cellphones, so even without a computer of desktop, we can already access these services and so far, our taxpayers here are very accepting. They said, they no longer need come here often for their transactions]," Belen explained.

BIR reported that there were  more than 1,500 ORUS registrations in Abra  last month, and it is expected to increase further this year as the information campaign on this digital program continues. (JDP/CAGT - PIA CAR, Abra)
