The buy bust operation was conducted by the joint elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), led by its Chief, Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio P. Benitez Jr, together with operatives from Iloilo City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), Iloilo City Police Station 4, Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, and PNP Maritime Group (RMU 6) on January 15, 2023 at around 9:15 in the evening, according to a press report from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO),

An inventory and markings of these seized and recovered items were made in accordance with Section 21 of R.A 9165 and were turned over to PNP RFU6 for specific examination.
