BSU recognizes dedicated employees, retirees on 38th Charter Day

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet(PIA)-- The Benguet State University recognized its retirees and employees who have consistently demonstrated exceptional work and contributed to the achievement of University goals throughout the years during the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Everlasting Awards, as part of its 38th Charter Day celebration.

Governor Melchor Diclas with BSU officials led by President Felipe Comila awarded plaques and certificates to the loyalty awardees for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years in service during the program held at the BSU gymnasium.

Among the honorees of the Milestone Award are president Comila, Veronica Aromin, Maria Luz Fang-asan, Ernesto Gonzaga and Hilario Perez for 40 years of dedicated service ; Prof. Pelin Belino for 35 years in service and Professor Maria Azucena Lubrica for 30 years in service.

The awardees were chosen not only for their length of service, but also for their accomplishments embodying the vision, mission, and core values of BSU.

BSU also recognized the retiring employees with the “Salamat-Mabuhay” Awards. They are Vice President for Research and Extension Johnny Dati, Nestor Pilayan, Jovita Sim, Angelina Busongan and Alexander Fagyan.

The Governor lauded the honorees for their years of service, dedication and loyalty to the university, their communities and the province of Benguet. “I express my deepest gratitude to all the teachers and non-teaching personnel of BSU for your perseverance and commitment.

To the loyalty and milestone awardees, you are the unsung heroes who played a significant role in building our nation through education,” the governor said. He told the awardees to take joy in their legacy.

He also extended his appreciation to BSU for being a consistent outstanding academic institution. He also highlighted the establishment of the BSU College of Medicine thru Republic Act No. 11970 recently signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. This is  a huge blessing for the province in producing more  physicians, and   in improveing  the healthcare system of Benguet and the Cordillera region.

“We have witnessed BSU’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence, entrepreneurship and community development, and so, as we celebrate this special occasion, may we reflect on the success stories of our institution and recommit ourselves by working hand in hand towards a thriving and empowered BSU,” the governor said.(JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
