Legazpi City to host 2024 PRISAA games

LEGAZPI CITY (PIA) -- Legazpi City will be hosting the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2024 National Games from July 13 to 20.

This was announced by PRISAA National President Edgar Balasta, who just came from a meeting with representatives of Legazpi city government and other PRISAA officials.

“The home of Majestic Mayon volcano and City of Fun and Adventure will be hosting the PRISAA 2024 National Games this coming July 13–20,” Balasta said in a statement.

Balasta said Legazpi is “widely known for hosting national and international events offering the best hotel services, amenities, convention centers not to mention its accessibility to public transportation hubs either by land (vans and buses), sea (ferry ships) and air (connecting flights from Manila to Legazpi City and or from Legazpi City to Cebu City and vice versa), among others.”

With more than 10,000 athletes and sports officials expected to attend from various schools, universities, and colleges across the country, Legazpi City Mayor Geraldine Rosal has committed to a strong partnership to ensure the success of this major event, Balasta said.

Balasta said the PRISAA has begun its planning and preparations for the multi-sports event.

Athletes from all regions of the country are gearing up to compete for the most coveted championship title, hoping to hoist their region's flag as overall champions and represent the country as part of a formidable team of athletes, he added.

This is the second time the Bicol region will host the PRISAA. Naga City in Camarines Sur hosted the games in 2009.

The PRISAA National Games is the annual sports competition for college and senior high student-athletes coming from private schools, colleges, and universities.  It is organized by the PRISAA.  (PIA5)
