DPWH completes 3-classroom school building in Nueva Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a one-storey, three-classroom school building at San Isidro Central School in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.

The infrastructure has a total floor area of 256.5 square meters and an elevation of one meter, featuring rooms measuring 63 square meters each.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad explained that the design ensures students can learn in a more suitable and stimulating setting.

“The construction of this building prioritizes safety and quality standards, incorporating six lighting features, two opposite doors, four ceiling fans, and a blackboard in each classroom. Additionally, a wash area on its side promotes the hygiene of both faculty and students," Trinidad highlighted.

Moreover, Assistant District Engineer Robert Jay Panaligan said the completion of the project can boost the morale of both faculty and students, while sending a positive message to the community that education is valued by the national government.

"By incorporating accessibility features for individuals with special needs into this new school building, it enhances the school's inclusivity for students with disabilities. This ensures that a greater number of kids may access education," Panaligan emphasized.

He added that DPWH's commitment to constructing new school buildings reflects a profound understanding of the vital connection between infrastructure and education, providing Filipino students with conducive learning environments for a brighter future.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Education wherein P6.6 million was earmarked through the Basic Educational Financial Fund sourced from the 2023 national budget. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
