2 Montañosa police officers awarded for good deeds

BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA) --  For their dedication to community service, two police officers from Mountain Province are among the Top 10 PNP Personnel with Good Deeds awarded during flag-raising ceremony and 30th PNP Day celebration held at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame on January 15, 2024.

PCMS Marjorie N. Rivera of Natonin Municipal Police Station, and PSSG Benjamin S Chumacog of Bontoc Municipal Police Station received the Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya(Police Relations Medal).

The Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya is awarded to PNP personnel for their meritorious achievements in the field of police relations. It is demonstrated by exceptional performance and dedication in fostering positive relationships with the community, promoting cooperation, and maintaining trust between law enforcement and civilians.

PSSg Benjamin Chumacog received Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya for his efforts in organizing Taekwondo Summer Camp in Bontoc, Mountain Province

Rivera received the award for her dedication to community service, particularly for providing continuous educational assistance to three siblings in Paracelis whose parents are both undergoing medication.

Chumacog, on the other hand, was awarded for his efforts in organizing a Taekwondo Summer Camp for 35 pupils in barangay Balili, Bontoc. He led the team to a successful campaign in the 2023 CAR Taekwondo Competition bringing home eight gold, five silver and 15 bronze medals.

Chief PNP PGen Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., commended the 10 police awardees for their remarkable contributions and commitment to community welfare. “This occasion presents an opportunity for professional growth. It allows us to reflect on our actions. It is a chance for us to embrace a more admirable and morally upright self-image,” he said.

“As law enforcers, we have the responsibility of upholding public trust in the execution of our duties. As one PNP family, we must work together united as a force to overcome challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of our fellow citizens,” Acorda said.

In the Facebook post of Rivera, she stated that behind the award was her desire to share God’s blessing and that in doing so, she and her family can give hope to others.


“By helping others improve their lives, we're also helping our own communities improve for the better and in our own ways, we're helping pave the way for a brighter future for the next generations to come,” she added.(JDP/VJLT-PIA Mt. Province)
