CSAT breaks ground for 2-story school building

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA) -- The Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) commenced the construction of the P10 million two-story school building at Lumad, Poblacion, Mambajao, Camiguin, on January 18 in a groundbreaking ceremony.

"We are thrilled to embark on this journey towards a brighter future for our students and the community at large. This new facility will not only provide a cutting-edge learning environment but will also serve as a hub for community engagement and collaboration," said Vocational School Administrator Karol Sanggomay P. Ranalan.

The school also recognized the support of Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, who was instrumental in securing funds for the said building, along with the province's key officials.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Shella Babanto, representing Gov. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, Vice Mayor Robert Jones Closas, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Director Dan M. Navarro, TESDA Camiguin Acting Provincial Director Lonie B. Gonzaga, and representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), graced the said event.

The officials expressed their excitement about the transformative impact the new school building is expected to have on the education landscape and future plans for CSAT.

Navarro said the building will be a way of expanding the programs and services of TESDA and thereby creating employment opportunities to improve the lives of Camiguinons and other people.

The attendees also had the opportunity to witness the symbolic turning of the first shovel of dirt, signifying the start of construction. (TESDA Camiguin/PIA-10/Camiguin)
