ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) commended the local government unit (LGU) of Magdiwang for its support to graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in their town.

The municipal government of Magdiwang recently set aside P115,000 which was divided among the 23 families that “graduated" from the 4Ps program.

The amount is intended to help children of 4Ps family-beneficiaries who are in senior high school and college.

Geneva Luces Fabila Zacarias, the Provincial Link Social Welfare Officer III, emphasized that Magdiwang LGU is among the local government units in the province actively providing support to 4Ps beneficiaries who have successfully graduated from the program.

DSWD urges other LGUs to follow Magdiwang's initiative, emphasizing the importance of aftercare services for household graduates to prevent them from slipping back into poverty.

LGU Magdiwang has pledged its commitment to the DSWD, assuring the continuation of interventions for program graduates, exemplifying its dedication to the welfare of its constituents. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa - Romblon)
