Farmers in Abra town get nearly P1-M farm tools, machinery under DOLE program

LANGIDEN, Abra (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) distributed farming tools, equipment, and implements to more than 70 farmers who belong to the Baac-Bucog Farmers Irrigators Association (BBFIA) in the far-flung town of Langiden, Abra.

The assistance worth P958,144 was funded under DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program.


BBFIA also received a mini tractor, a rear tire tiller plow implement, a trailer, self-propelled handheld reaper machine, water pump, and a high-density polyethylene pipe irrigation hose.


Langiden Mayor Secel Palecpec and DOLE Abra provincial office head Christopher Tugadi and livelihood focal person Grace Bandayrel led the turn-over.


Bandayrel shared that another set of farming assistance will also be awarded to the Malapaao Farmers, Irrigators, Fishermen Association with more than 50 members in Langiden under the same DOLE program. 

The residents are optimistic that the project initiated by their local chief executive will bring additional income to the farmer-beneficiaries. (JJPM-PIA Abra)
