RDC-CAR approves 2024 work and financial plans

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC-CAR) has approved its 2024 Work and Financial Plans during  its  2023 Performance Review and 2024 Planning Conference at the Venus Parkview Hotel in Baguio City on January 24.

The plans comprise the banner programs and projects of the sectoral committees and the Private Sector Representatives anchored on President Marcos’ eight-point agenda and the priorities of the RDC.

The document also outlines the programs, projects, and activities under the Social Preparation of CAR into an Autonomous Region program,  which is crucial to support the continuing campaign for regional autonomy.

RDC chairperson and Apayao Gov. Elias C. Bulut Jr.  thanked the members  including  the provincial governors who chair the different sectoral committees for their support to the council’s objectives.

“In just a year, we have made progress on our goals. Still, much is yet to be done,” he said.

As the budget preparation for 2025 is set to begin, Bulut reminded the committees to align their proposed programs, projects, and activities with the priorities of the RDC, and the programs identified in the Regional Development Investment Program.

“May we also be reminded once again of our regional targets set in our Regional Development Plan. By 2028, we target to spur economic growth in the region while keeping food prices low and stable in line with the administration’s thrust toward poverty reduction and job creation. The region shall also reduce its poverty incidence and maintain its low level of unemployment rate. We hope that we use our term efficiently to lay the ground work towards socio-economic transformation for a prosperous inclusive and resilient Cordillera,” he  said. (JDP/IOS-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
