DICT Isabela equips teachers on cybersecurity awareness, Google workspace

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) - Isabela Provincial Office recently conducted a cybersecurity awareness and google workspace training to public school teachers of San Mateo Elementary School in the town of Tumauini.

The training is part of their mid-year in-service training to equip themselves on digital skills and safety on cyber spaces.

DICT Provincial Officer Cirilo Gazzingan Jr. said the training covers topics on practices for online security, strategies in safeguarding sensitive information, and practical tips in utilizing google workspace.

He said the education sector plays a significant role in cascading to the learners cybersecurity awareness and knowledge.

“It is necessary that our teachers will be provided with the necessary knowledge on cybersecurity and in the usage of Google workspace and hoping that they will share these to the learners,” Gazzingan said.

Meanwhile, San Mateo Elementary School Principal Ceferino Baquiran expressed his gratitude to DICT for its essential contribution to the school's development especially in providing the necessary knowledge on cybersecurity
