‘Kasambahay’ Norma Gutierres, 76 of barangay Malasin said  the LGU assistance is a big help for them as low-income earners.

“We hope that this assistance will be increased so that we can enjoy its benefits more,” she said.

Councilor Cayton said the ordinance aims to help domestic workers by way of augmenting their income and uplift their condition as important sector of their community.

“With this ordinance, we are uplifting the plight of our domestic workers and empower them as the priority sector of our municipality because you are the life of Filipino families. We are also working to provide ‘Kasambahay Desk' through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office,” he said.

Cayton said the ‘Kasambahay’ Desk will address the various issues and concerns of the domestic workers especially on awareness campaigns on their rights and privileges under ‘Kasambahay’ Law. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
