CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) currently undertakes various social infrastructure projects worth P131.46 million in the 4th legislative district of Nueva Ecija.

These were funded under the 2023 national budget and are in different stages of implementation.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the projects include construction of school buildings for Entablado Elementary School in Cabiao, General Tinio National High School, Marelo Elementary School, and Balante Elementary School in Gapan City as well as improvement of local and farm-to-market roads.
 

“Upon the imminent completion of four educational infrastructures valued at P59.03 million in the 4th district, a positive development is anticipated for the community, teachers, and students as part of the Department of Education’s school building program, adding 23 new learning spaces to effectively address persistent classroom shortages in the province," Trinidad stated.

Meanwhile, residents of barangay Makabaklay in Gapan City will soon experience better access leading to Minalungao National Park because of the ongoing P11.7-million road concreting project which is part of the DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program for 2023.

A total of P60.73 million, on the other hand, was allotted by the Department of Agriculture for the paving of two farm-to-market roads in barangay Bungo, also in Gapan City, that will be completed within the year. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
