'Kadiwa ng Pangulo' launched in Aglipay

AGLIPAY, Quirino (PIA) -- This municipality, in collaboration with the local farmers and Micro Small and Medium Entreprises recently launched the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) initiative at the town’s Bagsakan Center, Public Market in Barangay San Leonardo here. It is the first local government unit in the province to adopt and localize the said program.

During the kick-off ceremony, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) represented by Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist (STIDS) Shiela Nera assured the agency’s commitment and support to the initiative.

Nera added the program aims to secure food supplies, offer consumers access to affordable and nutritious goods, provide a platform for local farmers to sell their products and promote the One Town, One Product initiative.

“The public is invited to visit the KNP from 8 AM to 5 PM. Let us all show our support for local farmers and producers in the province,” Nera said as she announced that other municipalities will also launch their own KNP programs on February 2024

Other line agencies such as the Department of Agriculture-Quirino Experiment Station, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Department of Labor and Employment also poured their support to the program.

Last year, the KNP was already adopted by the provincial local government unit, which runs every Friday at the Capitol Grounds, San Marcos, Cabarroguis. (OTB/TCB/PIA-2, QUIRINO)
