CamSur business chamber to organize Ease of Doing Business seminars

NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur (PIA) -- The Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI) is organizing a series of seminars on government policies and processes implementing Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018.

Kristian Carl Malazarte, president of the CSCCI, said the primary aim of the seminars is to keep their members updated about these regulations.

“Isa po sa highlights ng trainings namin this year ay ang members po namin na maging aware sa government policies so they can navigate their way nang maayos (One of the highlights of our trainings this year is for our members to be aware of government policies so they can navigate their way properly),” Malazarte said.

During the seminars, checklists of requirements for various types of applications or requests with agencies or local government units will be discussed, Malazarte said.

Republic Act 11032 ,is anchored on the principles of providing corruption-free government services to the public and the adoption of simplified procedures that support efficient government transactions.

Section 9 of the law shortens the time frame for government offices or agencies to act on applications or requests. For simple transactions, the period is now three days instead of five, while for complex transactions it is seven days instead of 10.

At the kick-off rally for “Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)” movement in Manila, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on government workers to cut red tape in business.

Government offices, he added, should provide special treatment to the people instead of putting them through red tape. (PIA 5)
