Kalinga Provincial Hospital accredited  as mother-baby friendly facility

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) -- The Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH)  is now accredited as a  Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facility.

The certificate was issued by Department of Health-Cordillera Regional Director Rio L. Magpantay, following the assessments conducted in November last year.

The KPH, the province’s premiere health care provider, successfully  met the  requirements of the Mother and Baby-Friendly Health Facility Initiative(MBFHI), which encourages hospitals and other health facilities to support breastfeeding mothers and their babies.

The certification is valid until 2026.

The KPH Breastfeeding Committee is  headed by Dr. Chai Gaerlan.

Gov. James S. Edduba joined officials and people of the province in commending KPH  for the citation.

He said the province-LGU will continue to support health worker’s welfare and pursue provision of primary health care especially to less privileged patients under the LUMIN-AWA Health Services Program of the province. (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
