Nueva Vizcaya releases over P9.2-M aid to farmers badly hit by Super Typhoon ‘Egay’

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA)  -- The provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya has released over P9.2 million in financial assistance to 1,586 farmers who were badly hit by Super Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri)  in July 2023.

Each farmer received a check for P5,000.

The recipients were from the towns of Kasibu, Dupax del Sur, Aritao, Bambang, Alfonso Castaneda, Ambaguio, Bayombong, Quezon, Solano, Bagaba, and Villaverde.

Governor Jose Gambito said the payout shows that the LGU has not reneged on its obligation to attend to the welfare of farmers in in times of disasters and calamities.

“Our farmers are our partners for food security and proper nutrition, and I am encouraging them to produce more of their products while we support them,” he said.

Juliet Adangna, a farmer recipient, said the assistance will help them restore their livelihood after the devastating weather disturbance last year.  

“This will help us to start anew with our livelihood. We need this because we lost our source of income during the typhoon” she said.  (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
