QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) forged a partnership with SM Malls to provide an exclusive one-day shopping discount promo for all its members on February 14, Valentine’s Day.

The initiative, dubbed as “PhilHealth Members’ Day,” is also in line with the observance of the National Health Insurance Month this February and the corporation’s 29th anniversary celebration.

The said promo covers exclusive discounts for both in-store and personal shopper transactions in all SM Store branches nationwide.

PhilHealth members can particularly enjoy a P300 worth of discount for a minimum single receipt purchase of P3,000. They simply need to present their PhilHealth ID and SMAC membership card to avail of the promo.

The one-day shopping discount promo of PhilHealth, however, is not in conjunction with any promotional offers of SM Store such as the gift-with-purchase.

The 29th anniversary of PhiHealth anchors the theme “Damang-dama ko ang benepisyo” which essentially reflects the corporation’s aim to further enhance its health benefits packages for Filipinos towards expanding the coverage of Universal Health Care (UHC).

Why Registering for PhilHealth's Konsulta Program Can Give Members More Life-Saving Benefits

It can be recalled that the state health insurer is continuously advancing the implementation of the Konsulta program (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) benefit package as a means to promote preventive healthcare.

“In the course of our journey towards the full implementation of Universal Healthcare Law, we have come to realize the importance of providing primary care services - as a preventive measure that could lessen the number of people who get sick, or prevent worsening conditions that eventually lead to hospitalization - through periodic check-ups and early detection,” said PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Emmanuel Ledesma Jr.

“That’s the purpose of universal health care: every Filipino should have access to the full range of quality health services they need, where and when they need them, without causing financial hardship,” he added.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth hotlines are now available 24/7 to respond to the inquiries of members regarding benefit packages. They can reach the hotline by contacting 8662-2588
